Uncle Jay’s 2008 Video Recap Plus A Worthy New Year’s Resolution
Over a million viewers have seen this video – a recap of 2008. Short, humorous and to-the-point, ”Uncle Jay” has created a winner with this one.
A Worthy New Year’s Resolution
After you assess and digest the events of 2008, you may be hoping for a fresh start. You may be looking for new strength and energy to accomplish dreams never quite achieved. You may be wondering how to rid yourself of fear, sadness or feelings that there is not enough love or joy in your life. You may be considering a New Year’s resolution.
Most of us know we have not lived to full capacity. We have not tapped the great reservoir of talents or love within us which could transform not only our own lives for the better, but uplift others.
To move from an unfulfilling life to a fulfilling one requires that we change focus.
It requires setting a goal, putting that goal in front of us 24/7, and then remaining aware so we can tell if what we are doing in the moment is taking further away from that goal, or moving us toward it.
For instance, should you want to be a more loving person, then you must take every opportunity to nurture and reinforce your own expressions of love not only toward others, but toward yourself.
It’s been said that each of us could heal the entire world were we able to fully love, without boundaries or conditions or judgment.
Certainly learning to love ourselves and others just a bit more would be a worthwhile resolution for this new year. There will be great temptation to dispise those responsible for the nation’s financial failures, yet the Bible and other sacred texts tell us to love, not hate, because whatever we send out will come back to us.
Love your enemies and that love will come back to you. Your love may even help to heal them. Should they be steadfastly determined to resist healing or intent upon hurting you, love them enough and your love will shield you so that it is like “coals heaped upon their heads.”
Fear and hate them, and the reverse is very likely to occur, if not now, in the future. Hate and fear will always come back to bite the hand that feeds them.
So let us all resolve to move just one degree closer to embodying the incredible love of God by focusing on this thought once a day for the next 365 days:
I am pure love.
No matter what happens, repeat it. Put it on your refrigerator or above your desk.
Being human, we will likely lose our tempers, feel angry, depressed, sad, or something other than love at some time in 2009. Yet still say it: “I am pure love.” Say it even if tears of frustration are running down your cheeks.
Say it until you believe it. It is guaranteed to have an effect, for this is what our Divine Father has given us: the ability to consciously become the best that we can be, one baby step at a time.
Only focus. God will do the rest.
Happy New Year from my heart to yours-
Clyo
