Ultimately, each of us must turn inward and “feel” our way to a prayer (or inspirational prayers) that will turn the tide.

Whether this is “just in my mind” or not, I can tell you I could care less because, as they say, “the proof is in the pudding.”

My life was spared three times. (I was a slow learner.)

Eat, Pray, Love – a refreshing read by Elizabeth Gilbert

 

I went on a little vacation and, as so often happens when I stop “doing” and relax, I stumbled upon a refreshing little book, Liz Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia.

Left behind by his girlfriend (who had already flown home) my brother-in-law had it lying around, but had no intention of reading it since he said it is so obviously “a woman’s book.”

I don’t know about that. I read passages of it to my husband during our drive home and he enjoyed it.

The proof? Every time I asked, “Have you had enough?” he’d smile and say, “Keep reading.” So perhaps I will write a review in the future after I get my own copy.

I mention (and am shamelessly flogging) Eat, Pray, Love simply because it’s a worthwhile book with an important message that we just cannot get too often: we do not love ourselves well enough.
