7-Point Plan To Make Money Your Friend

Has  money run away from you? Left you in the lurch? Been a real stinkeroo?

If money is more of a foe than a friend, then it’s time to look inside to see if you fear money, or see it as a fickle and elusive enemy instead of as a friend.

Why? Because you have a relationship with money. And if that relationship is filled with distrust, there is bound to be betrayal and abandonment that translates into job loss, pension loss, home loss, increased interest rates on your credit card, or some other financial crisis.

A SCENARIO FOR DIVORCE

Consider: would you stick around someone who always watched you with a fearful or jealous eye, waiting for you to leave, or for something to go wrong?

And what if someone always told you that you are “never enough?”

Sounds like a scenario for divorce, doesn’t it?

Sadly, if you fear money and see it as an enemy, or if you are angry at money or associate money with evil, it will divorce you because you have rejected it.

Therefore, if you are having any kind of money troubles, you owe it to yourself to find out your hidden beliefs and attitudes about money so you can exchange them for new beliefs and attitudes that will attract not just money, but the types of opportunities that will result in real financial freedom (no money worries).

So here’s the first call-to-action in my 7-point plan for outing those sneaky negative beliefs and turning them around.

1) MONEY EXERCISE: GIVE MONEY A “VOICE”

To find out just what limiting beliefs you have, try this: give money a personality, an identity and a “voice.”

Now, this may sound crazy, but we have relationships with everything. And part of what has made financial guru Suze Orman so wildly successful is that she empowers people by getting them to recognize when they have a toxic relationship with money that needs adjustment.

Now, once a person realizes that everything is energy – and everything is God – then asigning a personality and identity to “Money” starts to make intuitive sense.

You may well find – if you give it a fair chance – that it can be quite helpful to give the thing in your life that is giving you “fits” a face, an identity and a personality because this allows you to ”dialogue” with it – talk with it in a journal or out loud.

BE CRAZY LIKE A FOX

In case you’re worried, talking to “Money” will not mean you are crazy, unless it’s “crazy like a fox.”

By giving money a “voice” - and even a nickname – you will gain insights into your relationship, how money “feels” about you, and why it doesn’t want to stick around.

So I urge you to get serious with this goofy-sounding exercise because ”Money” may tell you something quite profound as it did me:

“Remember when your father lent money to your uncle when he was out of work? Your uncle never paid him back, even when the time came that your dad was struggling and your uncle was doing really well.

“You know you’ve never forgiven your uncle for that, and you don’t want to be anything like him. Well, that includes having money. Since you decided that only jerks wind up with a lot of money, and since you never want to be a jerk, you don’t really want his degree of prosperity.”

Wow.

Guess what was job number one before I could have more money?

You got it. Forgive my uncle. And stop thinking that $$=jerk.
