Going On A Trip? Check Your Car’s Tires, Fluids and Headlights. Then Expect The Best.
It’s vacation time and many people are packing up the car to go camping or visit relatives. Should you be one of them, I wish you much happiness. Just make sure that you check out your car – the tires and pressure, oil, washer fluid – the whole gamut ahead of time. Having a flat time at the side of the road is no fun. I know, because it’s happened to me.
When something like this does happen, the outcome really does seem to depend on one’s outlook. It’s important to visualize help coming, and to “see” the problem being solved, even as we are praying for these things. It is these times when faith is tested.
When you are alone at the side of the road, it’s important to have a reassuring talk with God and affirm what you want, not what you don’t want, and to smile to yourself because the truth is, when you feel the presence of God and believe you are safe and that you will be on your way shortly, that will manifest.
Yet, I am still learning that it really is best not to test my faith in crisis, but to pray for guidance and visualize everything going well before taking the trip. That includes listening to your intuition and taking reasonable precautions such as checking your tires.
And this leads me to both the advice I’ve posted and this rather unusual video I have posted.
This Headlight Restoration Kit Demo is definitely different for this blog – a video demonstration of how to restore car headlights when they have gotten clouded up and are not letting enough light through at night to see the road.
The video isn’t inspirational, but precautionary. Just be aware that tires and fluids aren’t the only thing to check. Car headlights can get foggy and it can come as a nasty surprise when you can’t see the road at night after getting out into open country on a vacation trip. (Again, it’s happened to me.)
Also, when headlights get occluded, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy a pair of new car headlights, as this video demonstrates.
This topic reminds me that I once did my own engine tuneups. Seems like two lifetimes ago. My how the decades fly by.
