The BP oil spill can be a great blessing in the long run, for humanity and our planet as a whole, as more people see the enormous benefit in switching to solar energy.

Yet state and federal programs that help people make the switch with renewable energy incentives such as solar rebates and a solar tax credit are in danger of being discontinued. Can you imagine? How counter-intuitive is that?

In checking my last post I saw that the badge displayed (to the left) on this site for EveryHumanHasRights.Org was no longer showing. Instead there was a broken image icon. When I clicked on the broken icon, instead of being taken to EveryHumanHasRights.Org, the URL led to a hosting company’s home page.

Long story short, I found the image elsewhere, downloaded it, uploaded to my server, and the link once again will land you where it should, on the home page of Every Human Has Rights, a great and noble organization founded by The Elders, one of whom is Nelson Mandela. It has wonderful goals (Millennium Development Goals or MDGs) which include the healing of poverty.

As Nelson Mandela says, “Poverty is not natural. It is created…act with courage and work to make poverty history.”

In 2009 over 52,000 people (including me) signed a pledge to take a stand for love by supporting a Universal Declaration of Rights. You can too. Intention is 80% of life.

Given ongoing problems in the Gulf of Mexico from the BP oil spill, mountain top removal mining (the Obama administration has granted 42 of 48 new permits), and all the millions of individual and collective assaults on Mother Earth, it would be wise for us to pray daily for the wisdom to switch from fossil fuels to solar energy, and for the earth’s renewal.

Never think that your prayers do not matter. Who you are is significant, your contribution is significant, and what you think in your mind is significant to the outcome. [Read more →]

As more people pray, bless the situation, bless all concerned, and visualize the Gulf being filled with Love, Light and healing, our collective efforts are bearing fruit.

Oil is being captured now, and I heard a clip on the news in which BP CEO Tony Hayward pledged that The Gulf will be restored to what it was prior to the explosion.

“We will get this done. We will make this right,” he said.

Let us rejoice that BP has the resources to 1) compensate everyone out of work because of the spill and 2) do whatever it takes to clean up the mess.

If you know someone who is criticizing BP, you might remind that person that there have been plenty of instances in which corporations and individuals have created terrible messes and just walked away from them or fought liability for them. Litigation takes decades and often ends in a settlement that is a fraction of the actual costs to clean up the mess.

Let us recognize that BP has pledged to do the right thing. BP isn’t running away here. So be grateful and send the company love and light – pray for the company – as you do so for all coastal residents and marine life.

Thanks to the power of spiritual reciprocity, the more love we send to the company, the more love will be returned.

So please continue to lend the power of your beautiful mind to the full restoration of the Gulf of Mexico.

This is my last post in my series about the spiritual causes of the BP oil spill.

In my first post on the topic of the BP oil spill I revealed that I had received a revelation, during meditation, about the causes of the oil spill. This revelation hit me in the gut and left me nearly breathless because of its implications.

I did not write about that revelation. Instead, I posted a prayer to stop the leak since stopping the leak is crucial.

I wrote three follow-up posts on the spiritual causes of the BP oil spill – part 1, part 2 and part 3 – yet I still  did not disclose what had been revealed to me during meditation.

Why not?

Because I was not comfortable blogging openly about it. I’m still not.

This is not part of my series on the spiritual reasons for the BP oil spill, but it occurs to me that one of the reasons for the spill is a result of long-term confusion about our passions in terms of 1) knowing what they are, 2) prioritizing them, and 3) making sure we are making decisions that are congruent with them.

We’ve certainly been encouraged by corporations and politicians, who have vested interests in our going along with what they want, to believe that their ways and means of doing things are what we want too.

Here’s a radical idea for transforming the BP oil spill and the effects of the BP oil spill. You may see it as crazy, but try it.

Envision all that oil spewing out as love.

Yes, I know it’s a chemical soup that’s toxic, burns, and kills everything it touches. But that oil is God. Yes, I know it may sound counter to the usual response of blaming, raging and lamenting that is typical in a situation like this, but everything is God.

Everything is God. And that means the oil spill is part of God, and God can transmute it and create something good from it. [Read more →]

Are you furious at BP? Then you may not like what you are about to read.

We must stop separating ourselves from those who work for BP or seeing BP as an enemy.

We are all one. Whatever happens, no matter what any of us has done or not done – switched to solar, switched to smaller cars, turned off the electricity OR driven gas guzzlers, left all our lights on 24/7, considered environmentalists to be misinformed, etc. – we must put our ideas about each others’ shortcomings aside and, instead of focusing on them, pull together in Spirit to fix this.

God is All That Is. Yet it’s hard for most people to see God as both the beautiful Gulf and the BP oil spill. We have been taught that what is beautiful and good is God and what is ugly and troublesome is something else. Yet if God is, indeed All That Is, then it’s all one.
