Prayer To God: I Welcome You Into My Life
Most spiritual seekers long to feel the presence of God in their lives. They want to feel the energy, feel the love, and hear God’s guidance clearly so they know they are not “imagining” things, but really in contact.
In short, they want experiential evidence of God.
They – and we – want guidance so we may live a godly life.
We want to do the right thing. We want to be loving. We want to make a positive difference in the world, and live in right relationship to others and to God.
Yet, it can take months, or even years, of daily spiritual practice to develop the habits of mind that are needed to get into alignment with your Higher Self; so you feel the presence of the loving energy that is your Source and know that the guidance you are receiving is coming from God and not just another aspect of your ego.
WHY IS SPIRITUAL PRACTICE NEEDED?
Spiritual practice has one purpose and one purpose only: to change our habits of mind so we can hear the voice of God.
Typically, spiritual practice uses rituals of prayer, meditation, visualization, and expressions of gratitude to ease a person into feeling 1) more grateful for what he or she has, 2) more loving toward oneself, 3) more trusting of God, 4) more tolerant of others, and 5) more confident in facing whatever life presents.
These are the habits of a mind that can hear the loving voice of God and unite with a loving, trusting, God-centered heart.
These are the habits of a mind that has experienced the presence of God and knows that, when God is guiding you, well-being flows and there is nothing to fear.
Jesus had these habits of mind. He had a direct connection and so he knew the truth and importance of what he taught.
And what did Jesus teach?
He taught: treat each person as a brother, forgive all, love all, understand there is no death and understand that fear and hate take you away from being in alignment with God.
Jesus taught that God loves you and every person – even “the least” of us – with a love that surpasses all understanding.
He taught that any person could achieve a state of awareness of the Presence of God through spiritual practice, and through striving to get to a place of forgiveness, love and absolute faith.
He taught that anyone of us, through practice, can become aligned with our loving Source and behave in alignment with love.
ALIGNING THE MIND WITH LOVE
Yet, these mental habits were not learned overnight in his time, and they are not learned overnight today.
All of life is, indeed, spiritual practice as we strive to become fully empowered, fully loving, and fully aware of our Source and its presence within and around us.
So, if you are new to the spiritual path and want to feel the Presence of God in your life on a consistent basis, try speaking this prayer every morning. It will begin to head you in the direction you want to go.

PRAYER TO GOD
I Welcome You Into My Life
I welcome You into my life
And I greet You each morning.
I speak to You throughout the day
And I ask You to bless each person I meet.
I visualize healing for everyone
And I take time to ask for Your help in all things.
I listen to Your guidance in the Present Moment
And I surrender my insecurities, doubts and decisions to You.
I invite You into every conversation
And I invoke Your Sacred Presence in every space.
I take time to feel Your power move within me
And I give voice to the ideas You give me.
I follow through on the insights You provide
And I allow You to guide me to my fulfillment.
Above all, Lord, I practice Your Golden Rule:
I treat each person as I would want to be treated.
I cry when I need to, laugh as much as I can
And constantly strive to be Your vessel of love and peace.
At night, I thank You for this beautiful world
And for this amazing and wondrous action called living.
Abundant Creator, I welcome You into my life.
And so it is.
