Mr. Rogers And The Law Of Attraction
Mr. Rogers understood so many things about life. In this fun video remix by Symphony of Science’s John D. Boswell for PBS Digital Studios, Mr. Rogers has a twinkle in his eye as he expresses the essence of what we now recognize as The Law Of Attraction.
“Did you ever grow anything in the garden of your mind? You can grow ideas in the garden of your mind. You can think about things that make believe…and they’ll grow.”
Yep, they will. What we hold in our minds expands, grows, and eventually comes into being. I love it!
And Fred Rogers got an idea in his own idea in mind – that he hung onto until it manifested – after first seeing television in his parents’ home.
Although he entered seminary after college and subsequently became a minister, after his first experience as a viewer, he decided he wanted to go into television.
In an interview with CNN in his later years, Rogers stated:
“I got into television because I hated it so, and I thought there’s some way of using this fabulous instrument to nurture those who would watch and listen.”¹
One of his aims was to “look at the television camera and present as much love as you possibly could to a person who might feel that he or she needs it.”
What a good and wise man. We can all learn from the example he left us.
