Inspiring Louise Hay Interview Starts 2013 Hay House World Summit

I hope you already know about it and are listening, as I am, to Hay House’s incredible and transformative inspirational speaker summit. Today is day 1, and first up was the incomparable Louise Hay, the inspirational queen of how to improve your life.

100 motivational, cutting-edge speakers are being featured over the next ten days. Each one will give you tips for improving your life. So be inspired through the first world summit hosted by Hay House Publishing. (First listens, up to 24 hours are free, then you have to buy the mp3s to hear what you missed; so don’t delay – get over there and listen now.)

I have used Louise Hay’s little blue book, Heal Your Body, since it was first published.

In 1982, Louise’s book, along with another, Dr. Joseph Murphy’s The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind, shattered my ideas of how reality really worked. These two authors opened my eyes to why my life was such an absolute misery:

  • Why I was married to an abusive husband.
  • Why people were mean to me for no apparent reason.
  • Why my back throbbed so badly that, sometimes, I contemplated suicide.

A lot of people attribute these things to the devil. While they can’t be blamed for this – as this is what they have been taught – it isn’t the devil that causes your problems. It’s energetic patterns and programs in your subconscious.

Did Jesus state this? Of course not. How could he? 2000 years ago Jesus did not have the language to begin telling his followers about the subconscious and the need to “reprogram” their minds.

Even if he had used that kind of language, they wouldn’t have had a clue what he was talking about. It was not until the birth of the computer that we began to see and understand the analogy.

Instead, Jesus used parables – stories – to try and get his followers to understand the necessity of transforming their minds with new thoughts, ideas, and beliefs, which was shared by Mark.

The Good News According To Mark

“And no man puts new wine into old wineskins: else the new wine does burst the wineskins, and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined: but new wine must be put into new wineskins.” – Mark 2:22

Jesus meant that the old teachers – with the old answers – could not be filled with new consciousness, as they simply were not open to it. His new thoughts had no place in their minds or understanding of religious principles. His new thoughts, without a context and understanding – and without an openness to understand an expanded truth – would have just create conflict and confusion in the mind.

So Jesus went to people who were suffering – and, hence, open to new ways of thinking and being because they were seeking relief – and he delivered his message which was: You can access the Kingdom of Heaven right now if you will align with God’s love.

To align with God’s love, he told them, you must cleanse yourself of fear, resentment, and doubt about your own – and others – inherent worth and, in every moment, make the choice to love others rather than fear them or attack them as a way of defending yourself or your ideas.

In other words, to get out of suffering, you commit to renewing your mind.

And how can you do that? By seeking out positive beliefs, uplifting ideas, and inspirational feelings – to dwell in beautiful, loving and non-judgmental concepts – as a way to allow your mind to become cleansed and overflowing with love:

From Pauls’ Letter to the Romans:

“Do not be conformed to this world [which programs you to think and behave, judge and curse in accordance with a collective reality that judges and defends, fears and attacks] but be you transformed by the renovation of your mind [with love].” – 12:2

“Be affectionate to your brothers: and love one another. Be foremost in honoring one another.” 12:10

“Be joyful in your hope.” 12:12

“Be kind to strangers.” 12:13

“Bless your persecutors: bless and do not curse.” 12:14

Was this how people of the day treated others? No. They killed each other when offended. They cursed each other; they wished death, destruction, and torture upon people they feared or misunderstood and, therefore, labeled their “enemies.”

But Jesus – and his apostles – were very clear that that is not the way to live. They were very clear that mouthing principles means nothing. It is how you live that counts. They said that, instead of harboring that old way of thinking, it was necessary to create a new mind for yourself, with new thoughts, new beliefs, and a new and loving way of seeing everything around you.

From Paul’s Letter to the Philippians:

“Finally, my brothers, what things are true, and what things are honest, and what things are just, and what things are pure, and what things are beautiful, and what things are honorable in reporting, and deeds of praise and virtuousness; on these your thoughts should focus.” Philippians 4:8

If your life is not as you would have it be; if you hunger to “make your mind anew” so you can move into a more beautiful relationship not just with God, but with yourself and the other human beings on this planet with whom you may disagree, then drink deeply of the thoughts and ideas in this lecture series.

If you are reluctant and think this has nothing to do with “being a Christian,” ask yourself this: Are you are continually stuck asking the same old questions, questions like these?

“Why does God want me to be lonely?”
“Why does God want me to be broke?”
“Why does God allow such bad things to happen?”
“Why isn’t God answering my prayers?”

If so, to change your life, start asking yourself better questions such as:

“How can I channel more of God’s love through me so wonderful people are naturally attracted to me?”

“Is it really God’s will that I be broke, or am I creating this for myself?”

“How can I become more spiritually connected so I send love into the world and decrease the negativity?”

“What if I am getting the answer to my prayers and I don’t see it because my deepest thoughts and beliefs are my strongest prayers, and they lack faith that any real change is possible? If this is true, how can I change my thoughts, feelings, and programmed beliefs so I have absolute faith?”

When you start to ask yourself better questions, your fabulous brain will start to look for the answers.

What this means is that, when you ask yourself, for instance, “Why isn’t God answering my prayers?” your brain will supply all sorts of depressing answers – all of which are untrue (like God doesn’t love you enough to give you His time) that will further program your subconscious with defeat.

When, however, you ask yourself a better question – one that assumes a positive answer can be found by the way in which it is framed – a whole different process begins.

Like it or not, believe it or not, you are a co-creator with God. God can only do for you what he can do through you, through your thoughts, beliefs, actions – and love.

From Paul’s Letter to the Philippians:

For God is operating in you, both to purpose and also to perform that which you desire. Philippians 2:13

What I’m saying may seem foreign to you. Or offensive.

Yet, it is the truth. Until you start asking yourself the right questions, you will get the same old answers.

To align with God so you get new and better answers – and to see the miracles that are waiting for you and all the world – miracles of love – our minds must be cleansed of negatives, doubt, fear, resentment, blame and judgment.

The best way to cleanse our minds is to fill them with unconditional love from inspirational sources.

The people in this summit are sharing themselves and their love today, and for the next ten days.

Listen to those who call to you.

Absorb new ideas about how it is possible for you to become a more joyful, engaged, and blessed child of God in a secular world on a physical planet in which you are subject to the illusions of reality, including pain, loss, loneliness and lack.

I wish you triumphant transformation throughout your life, and hope that something I send you – whether this or another message or resource – aids you in transcending whatever limitations you face and wish to overcome, for we all have something within us we wish to transcend.

First we crawl, then we walk, then we run, then we fly.

It is our human journey. It is what we are here to do.

My prayer is that, during this journey, in which you are stripping away all that blocks your awareness of your own magnificence and how much you are adored by your Creator, that you learn to enjoy your ride.

I send you much love.
