How Should You Respond To Disaster?
I cannot tell you how you “should” respond to disaster – and I’m referring to a disaster that happens somewhere else – like the one in Japan last month. I can tell you, however, that your response will have an effect, and it will do one of three things: help heal the situation, keep it from healing, or make it worse.
I must caution you, however, that ignoring such an event isn’t much of an option because, if it’s in the consciousness of humanity, it’s in you and you will not escape having at least a subconscious response to it.
Now, when the earthquake and tsunami occurred in Japan on March 13th and I read that first news report, my response was that I would 1) make a donation to a relief organization and 2) not seek out any more news footage or photos of the damage.
You know how seductive those kinds of images are. It’s like looking at a train wreck. You may think you really do not want to see it, but then you catch sight of something that quickens your pulse and you just have to see how bad it is.
Yet I knew I did not need to watch the news or Internet slide shows to know things weren’t rosy. And while I didn’t intend to get in a struggle trying to avoid images of the disaster, I knew that the less I saw of it, the better.
Why? Because I did not want to lend my consciousness to the creation of more disaster for Japan. [Read more →]

Gratitude Prayer Chant Makes Me Feel Great
It’s a beautiful Spring day today and I’m feeling great for a lot of reasons, one of which is that I have finally gotten a terrific prayer chant audio program up for sale on Bandcamp.
All of $2.99 for the album, it’s a simple program for cultivating gratitude and improving your life using a powerful yet short prayer of thanks.
Because so many people who write to me are having dire money problems, I’ve priced it very low so virtually anyone can buy it. I think $12.99 would still be low given how valuable I think the program will prove to be, yet some who need it the most might pass it up at that price, and that would be a shame.
RECEIVED DURING MEDITATION
I received the inspiration for Forty Thanks during meditation. At first I thought, “This is too simple.” Then I played with making an audio for myself and really liked listening to it. I thought I might like it even more if I added music, so I did.
Then I thought, “Well, how about creating different variations with different music?”
When I finished, it dawned on me that I had been inspired to create a powerful little program for life improvement. So I created an album cover and an introduction track and now I’ve uploaded it to Bandcamp.
I’ve been listening to the tracks and loving them. No other personal development or self-help audio I’ve ever used has made me feel so good when I listen to it.
This blows me away considering that I’ve bought audio programs, in the past, costing up to $500 only to feel that it was a chore to listen to them. I find these short tracks fill me with joy. I especially love listening to that first track first thing in the morning.
So I’m following my own little program for cultivating gratitude. Isn’t that a riot?
Yet, I know that I did not receive the idea for this prayer chant album just so I would enjoy listening to it. It obviously was delivered to help others as well.
FEELING LOUSY OR UNGRATEFUL?
So if you wake up feeling lousy some days, or you are having trouble cultivating an attitude of gratitude and you want to feel better, get yourself over to my Bandcamp site and download this album. It comes with a pdf that should answer any questions you have about what to expect during the program. For the time, effort and money required, you will not find a better or more effective self-improvement or spiritual growth program.
At this point I feel like I’m probably going to listen to that first cut every morning for the rest of my life. It’s just such a great beginning to my day.
I have a another audio project in the works, the idea for which also came to me during meditation.
I have grown to treasure my meditation time. It feels so good and is so beneficial in so many ways, not the least of which is to give me inspiring projects to work on.
Peace and Blessings -

A Moving Letter From Japan
My best friend forwarded a moving email from Japan, forwarded to her by a friend of hers.
“This is a beautiful and insightful letter from someone living in Japan. Inspiring and hopeful. Very aware. This is what we need to hear more of in the News. This was forwarded from a client of ours. A really lovely letter amid the chaos.”
The forwarded comment from the client who first shared the letter:
“From my cousin in Sendai, Japan where she has lived for the past decade teaching English.” [Read more →]

What Has Been Your Spiritual Response To Japan?
Your initial response to the consequences of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan was, probably, a feeling of sadness blended with compassion for those whose lives have been turned upside down.
You may have also had to turn your attention away from the suffering, for lack of knowing what to do because you, intuitively, felt that feeling bad without any way of healing the suffering you are seeing is not helping you or anyone else.
You may have, first, sent a donation to the Red Cross or Care International or Doctors Without Borders and told yourself that will just have to do.
If this has been your response, it is certainly enough.
Whatever inspired action you take out of a genuine feeling of compassion is always enough because you are enough. You have your own means of expression and your own process, which you must trust.
However, should you feel frustrated over what else you can do or feel, instinctively, that there is something you could be doing from a spiritual perspective that you are not currently doing, then this post is for you. [Read more →]

How To Pray For Love
Has this happened to you?
You’re in a relationship with someone. You feel you really love this person. You have been through a lot making this relationship work and you think things are finally working out. Then, out of the blue, the person leaves or, otherwise, dumps you.
Emotional devastation follows and so many miserable feelings: despair, grief, anger, feelings of revenge.
Who has not been through some degree of this?
Who has not prayed from the depth of despair, “Please bring him (or her) back to me?”
And who has not thought, “After all I went through, all the compromises, all the struggle… and now I’m dumped? This is so unfair.”
Then we mourn and pine and go over what we did wrong.
In all fairness, we haven’t been taught a better way. Certainly our love songs encourage this pining.
Yet, mourning the loss of those who have left us and being frozen in the pain of loss is no way to be happy or to open to true love.
Worse yet, sometimes we recover only to be dumped again, or to find ourselves in the role of “dumper” where we hurt the feelings of someone else.
WHAT’S GOING ON?
So what the heck is going on?
And why do we persist in twisting ourselves to stay in a relationship that is a struggle, and then cry when it ends?
More importantly, what can you do about it? Can you get your ex back? How can you get God to help you straighten this mess out? What kind of prayers will actually help you get the love you need? [Read more →]

Prayer For Japan
We are one with God and there is no actual separation from God on this earth, but only an illusion of separation that we perceive because of the limits built into the sensory apparatus of our bodies.
Regardless of this illusion of separation, to care for another is to care for yourself. Jesus was very clear on this. In Luke 6:38 he is quoted as saying:
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into our bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
What this means is: to send healing energy to Japan, whether through the affirmative prayer below or through visualization, is to send healing energy to yourself.
There is nothing metaphorical about this. These are not just pretty words or vague sentiment. This is not mere symbolic language or a parable to convey an idea. This is why affirmative prayer works. [Read more →]

How To Ask God For Money
The most frequently visited posts on my blog are about finances.
People are looking for answers in regard to how to ask God for money. They want to know the relationship between God and money. They want to know how to connect with God, get out of stress and struggle, create abundance and pay their bills.
If you are here for that same reason, then you have probably heard this answer:
“Just have faith the size of a mustard seed. Just lift your thoughts, feelings and vibration into knowing that a way for all needs to be met is already here in Spirit.”
And you are probably sick of hearing it.
The thought going through your mind right now may well be: “Yeah, that’s great. Just do it. That’s original. But how?
How Do I Do It?
“How do I move from the place of worry, where I am, and into a place of believing in and manifesting my abundance when I feel the way I do? Quit with the gobbledygook already – I’m so tired of abstract ideas – and give me a plan to follow in plain English.”
So I will share with you the spiritual prescription I just wrote in response – from the heart – to a prayer request I received today.

Christmas Celebrations Around The World
Before I get to my topic, I feel it’s worth noting that Christmas is the only time of year when you have permission to be jolly for days on end, and you are encouraged to have fun, like a kid.
Consider that you have permission to play with bows and tinsel and lights and decorate to your heart’s content.
You have permission to be generous to a fault.
And you have permission to call out to strangers, “Merry Christmas,” or, if you fret about political correctness, “Happy holidays!”
Imagine. In this next week you can beam at any stranger, send loving thoughts, wish him or her a “wonderful holiday” and “Happy New Year” and not be thought insane.
